During this one-day workshop you will learn how to make a professionally finished box cushion cover complete with piping and zipper.
Working step-by-step from a sample pattern you will develop practical techniques that can be applied to window seats, benches and chair cushions.
With expert guidance throughout the day and a maximum of four students you will leave with the confidence to recreate the processes at home.
Your tutor, Sarah is a Master Upholsterer who has been teaching upholstery and soft furnishings since 2012. Her workshops are deliberately kept small to ensure every student receives a high level of individual guidance.
During this workshop you will discover techniques used by professional soft furnishers:
How to measure for a new/replacement cushion
Accurate pattern making
Cutting fabric accurately
Making up and joining (on the bias) continuous piping
Installation of zipper
Constructing the boxing
Sewing neat corners
Professional finishing techniques
