The single day and block of 5 days run continuously throughout the year
and is open to all experience levels from beginner to improver.
Depending on your project you will learn how to strip away existing
upholstery, clean and carry out basic repairs, polish or paint the show
wood before building up the upholstery using traditional or modern
materials and methodology sympathetic to your project.
There is no restriction to the type of furniture you bring with you, as
long as you can transport it to and from the training room.
If you are new to upholstery, the one day workshop is a great way to
'dip your toe' to find out if you are going to enjoy this wonderful craft.
You will be introduced to the tools of the trade, modern & traditional methods using webbing, hessian and fillings.
The one day workshop is also a great way of extending your knowledge if you already have some upholstery experience and cannot commit to our longer courses.
If this is your first project, a drop in chair seat, footstool or basic headboard is ideal and can generally be finished in a day.
If you're looking to add to your skills the block of 5 days will give you the time to work on something more challenging. Perhaps you'd like to learn traditional or modern fluting techniques, reupholster or recover an armchair or tackle a tub chair, the choices are endless.

Classes run every Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday. Also 2 x Saturdays each month, Saturday dates as follows:
20th & 27th September
4th & 18th October
1st & 22nd November
6th & 13th December
Please bring along your lunch.
Refreshments available throughout the day.
There's secure parking at MODE and the training room is on the ground floor.
Upholstery supplies/materials are charged for on an as used basis.
